We’re looking for a bold and motivated leader to join our team as Head of Infantry & Functional Skills – a key role responsible for driving learner achievement and contract performance across our military education provision.
You’ll lead a national team assessing Army apprentices and delivering English and Maths Functional Skills to Army learners, ensuring high standards, strong learner engagement, and full compliance with regulatory expectations. As a visible and confident leader, you’ll work closely with customers, managers, and internal teams to embed a high-performance culture and ensure all KPIs are consistently met or exceeded.

Lead IQA - Functional Skills
Are you an experienced IQA looking to lead quality assurance across a nationally significant contract, supporting learners in the Armed Forces?
We’re looking for a proactive and organised Lead IQA – Infantry & Functional Skills to ensure high standards, robust quality processes, and continuous improvement across our functional skills and apprenticeship provision.
Working closely with the Progress Manager and Director of Quality & Compliance, you’ll lead on sampling, standardisation, lesson observation cycles, and preparation for external verification—ensuring our programmes meet the highest expectations of Awarding Organisations, Ofsted, ESFA, and IfATE.
What you’ll be doing:
- Coordinating and delivering internal quality assurance processes across functional skills and infantry apprenticeships
- Leading EV preparation and reporting, and maintaining accurate sampling records
- Supporting the development of teaching and learning through lesson observations and CPD activity
- Monitoring performance and identifying areas for improvement across your area of responsibility
- Maintaining accurate reporting and contributing to quality reviews, SAR, and QIP processesWhat you’ll bring:
- At least 2 years’ experience in an internal quality assurance role in education or work-based learning
